Exfoliation

First on the list is exfoliation. We are advised to exfoliate at least twice a week to get a clearer skin but exfoliating before a wax is equally good. Two days before you wax, gently exfoliate with a mild scrub, brush, mitt, or loofah to remove dead skin cells that surround the hair follicles.
This process helps loosen ingrown hair and improves waxing results.

No Dirt

Start off your waxing session with a freshly washed skin. Use a mild soap to remove any germs, particles, sweat, oil or makeup residues. This equally helps to prevent infection of the exposed pores right after exfoliating.

Avoid Wet Skin

Before your wax session, dry the area thoroughly because wax does not adhere to wet surfaces. If you are sweating, add a little talcum powder. This helps sop up moisture from sweat or nervousness.

Cut hair to a Particular Length

Though your hair needs to be at least a quarter-inch to be waxed, hair that’s too long can make waxing more painful.
It is recommended to cut hair to three-fourths of an inch if it’s longer.
